CASE STUDY

Wisebuys on Dixon Street

“The use of text abbreviation-based graphics spoke to the student audience.”

Wisebuys is a Wellington city store that sells competitively priced goods. Their product range, including a comprehensive range of party costumes, appeals to the local student population. Their secondary market is the general urban population, and local businesses.

Scenario

As a new business, the client required a suitable logo built from a brand proposition.

Challenges

Primarily – but not exclusively – catering to a student market, the brand needed to speak to students as well as the urban population and local businesses. The brand needed to reflect low-cost products while maintaining a professional brand promise.

Solution

Palettes were chosen to communicate low-price products and executed with a friendly, approachable logo. The use of text abbreviation-based graphics spoke to the student audience. The brand has been built and extended to signage, uniforms and graphics.

Stephen's Response

“We have known and worked with Freshfields and Lynn for over 6 years. We started up a new business and needed someone to come up with a logo, company colours, window signage and print material. Throughout the entire process Lynn guided us and with her expertise gave Wisebuys its distinctive logo and colours which we feel is an asset to our company.

Throughout, Lynn has been professional and a problem solver in brand development, logo design and graphics. A keen eye for detail, honest, friendly, and easy going nature are words that fit easily into the description of Lynn, and her company.

We have been very happy her work and would highly recommend her to any other business.”
